Who got trapped in the life of meth and binges on ecstasy  
I don’t want to be another statistic, a runaway living out
of a garbage bag
Whose home is a box in an alley to find shelter from her
abusive dad
I don’t want to be another statistic another teenage
mother addicted to dope
Who lies in a hospital bed with an IV in her vein and a tube
down her throat
I don’t want to be another statistic a student without a
dream
Whose only guidance was her mother who sold herself for
money
I don’t want to be another statistic a young Hispanic girl
with no parental influence 
Who looks to the media to show her what self worth is
I don’t want to be another statistic I don’t want to fit
the mold of what society sees
I want to be better than what’s statistically expected of
me 
I am not going to be another statistic, I will work hard to
achieve my goals
My purpose in life is important and I will make a difference
in this world
