Voices
She awoke to the sounds,
Of her mistake breathing.
It was still dark, and the breathing was getting heavier,
with every second.
She looked at her sweat filled palms that were shaking.
She tried to control them, but couldn’t.
The unknown that filled her mind was deafening.
The voices of her mistake was spinning.
They were taking over her mind, body, and soul.
She looked at the alarm clock 2:25 a.m.
The Tylenol p.m. that she had took hours ago wasn’t
working.
Her heart was hurting.
She loved him.
But it was a mistake.
His friendship had been the only thing keeping her alive
inside.
Late night talks, memories, inside jokes, just the comfort
she felt every time she was with him.
She had been inside of him all these years.
And the mystery of her was to soon be revealed.
It was something that she had been avoiding of all these
years.
But she lost the very thing that she hid underneath.
Giving up his friendship was the biggest mistake she made.
But she couldn’t go back,
Because even she did, things could never be the same.
The mistake, was just going to have to live with itself. |
