"CINEMATIC" VERSE, by Chuck Shorter
|
IN "A TOWN CALLED ALICE"
DURING "THE SUMMER OF '42"
ON "FRIDAY THE THITEENTH"
WAS "MY BEST FRIEND'S WEDDING"
HE'D SPENT A LIFETIME "FINDING MARY"
BUT SHE TURNED OUT TO BE A "RUNAWAY BRIDE"
HE SADLY PONDERED "WHERE LOVE HAS GONE"
AND SEARCHED IN VAIN FOR HIS "DARK ANGEL"
MAN! THAT WAS LIKE "MISSION IMPOSSIBLE"
FOR SHE'D RIDDEN OFF ON "A HORSE WITH NO NAME"
AND HAD "GONE WITH THE WIND"
PROBABLY TO THE "ISLANDS IN THE STREAM"
TO HAVE A BALL WITH "JERRY MCGUIRE"
ATOP A PIER "ON THE WATERFRONT"
