An old man and a boy., by josefpacheco Subscribe to rss feed for josefpacheco

Cherry blossoms slowly falling, falling here and there,
As Spring cometh to people with cheerfulness and peace,
The flowers unlike any kind, bringing calmness everywhere,
Even to an old man and a boy, who now at an ease,
From the harshness of the winter in their own home,
To this hot spring where they intentionally did roam.

"Ah, finally peace in Spring," the old man began,
"After this we will go and give thanks,
For protection and provision to the One."
He said this as in hot water he slowly sinks.
For during the winter they've had enough food,
From God on high who is truly good.

And surely after that they went their way,
To a place where there is no one around,
And there they kneel down and pray,
Giving thanks to God in silence on that soft ground,
The old man leading and the boy just praying,
Both in their hearts full of gladness and
thanksgiving.

Soon after praying, they both went home,
To a house, with the hot spring nearby,
The boy met up with his dad and his mom,
And his brothers and sisters, his whole family
Including the old man, who is his grandpa,
Now talking to an old lady, his grandma.

Keeping the Home fires burning! I really like this poem. It shines the light of Love on the family, and that is where it should be. Glo
