When dark clouds would seem but to cover my days,
And tears like rain come falling down my cheek,
Oh, how I would think I would ne'er see the sun's rays,
When no family and friends I could seek,
Then I would lay my head back down,
And I would lift my tired hands to pray,
Kneeling on my knees hearing my groan,
Focusing on You, wanting to seek Your face,
Believing that You would hear me, and help me,
And reading Your Word, for guidance and strength,
On that time, in that still silence,
Pouring all my aches and regrets,
There in my bed did I sleep peacefully,
Believing in a God who caresses me lovingly.
