Crossing the Bridge, by lacebutterflies
|
I used to dance in your sunlight,
But now I crawl in
Memories of daises and gumdrops.
I don’t want to remember yesterday.
I don’t want to remember the smiles,
The sweet laughter,
The once unfleeting joy.
I want to walk the bridge.
I want to reach tomorrow
Without having to remember
That yesterday.
I want to conquer the river that
Flows beneath me.
I want to pass that bridge
And all the obstacles before it.
And when I pass that bridge
I will see you,
See you looking back at me,
And I will again remember that
Yesterday,
But it won’t hurt so much
Anymore.

This poem was written in a way that people will remember it. Good job. |
