Heart Shaped Scar, by Caitlin_Californication

Scars are the natural tattooing of life.
Marks of new skin colliding with old,
Expressing the constant struggle of old, new
And those who get lost in between.
You left a heart shaped scar where my love used to beat.
They say the lips are the softest part of the body
But if thats true then why with every kiss did you cut me?
Why with every sweet word did you carve away a little more?
Bandages and makeup can't cover up these wound on my flesh.
They are deeper than skin, yet show up bright red on me.
My face arms chest legs and ankles are covered in your
marks.
So I hang my head and pencil over them to hide myself
again.
Because in a world of amazing beauty and love
Who would take a second look at me?
Covered in scars marks and lines
Who could love me but you?
