Serene, by Faith
|
In the air
a stillness lingers;
summer's last
exhale
before the plunge.
Before the chill
sets in.
Fading freedom.
A day as this
is one of
calm:
for breathing,
for savouring,
for day dreams.
Sunlight sifts
through leaves,
falling
on skin.
Fading warmth.
Brilliant blue
is the sky,
absent clouds,
twittering birds,
gentle breeze,
wash over,
swirling,
dancing,
frolicing.
Fading serenity.
Eyes closed,
float away,
as the last days
of summer
linger
and fade.
