The Little Girl

The little girl looks up at me,
She smiles, eyes glistening like the sea,
Who can hurt this innocent child?
Whose thoughts are gentle, here words are mild,
She doesn't understand what's going on,
She doesn't know what he's done,
She knows what happens feel so wrong,
She's hid her feelings for so long,
But she's hurting still inside,
She needs someone in whom she'll confide,
Her feelings are out of control they're wild,
She locks up her inner child,
Blaming herself for all he did,
Even though she's just a kid,
She runs away and hides herself,
Puts her childhood on the shelf.
