I can see you.
Every grain of detail,
those changes
like a lightswitch being flicked.
Smiles,
voices that stumble onwards
and trip over silence.
Creases, cravices of shadow,
in the lines upon your face
as you scowl in the seconds
of darkness.
You can see me.
Every shade of grey
that I cover in coats
of rainbow paint.
Hatred,
it turns inwards
and riots in my head.
Value, worth,
they consume every fibre
and stalk through my blood cells
seeking perfection.
Truth, it glares
and we are exposed
for what we are;
only human.
