Before I Bleed, by bedazzled
|
Can I steal along the edges
of these worlds we've outlined?
Slip between the chains,
tiptoe over the border?
Here we are still running
and we keep looking back,
time bomb of love,
how long 'til we trip?
Counting out the minutes
as we steam up the windows.
Listening for the door,
ready for another escape.
My heart avalanches
everytime that I lie
but deceit is all I breathe
and guilt is carbon dioxide to me.
In the end it's all worth it
just to be complete
then I'm back in this dungeon
looking for bandages.
Serrated blade of contrast
divides me down the centre
and I wonder if I can choose the best half
before I bleed.
