Devil's Inamorato

He runs his hands Through her hair. "I love you," he whispers softly. He tries to comfort her As she cries out in her sleep, Turning and rolling while burning from a nightmare. The man who can not love, The man who must hurt. Oh, the cursed obligation To be hated by all. A touch of his finger Turns into crackling Ice, painful and cutting. A look of his eye, And bodies freeze like stone. A breeze from his whispers And birds drop dead. Oh, the cursed obligation To be hated by all. Look away, Avoid his eyes, And you won't see his tears. Ignore his touch And how they tremble with passion. Brush away his breathe, And you'll never know he's there. Run, run, run As far away as you can. His pain you'll never understand. But,... I have stayed by his side and I have felt his touch fully. They were my daily warmth. I have looked into his eyes, And I've wiped them dry with My kisses. They were my precious jewels. I have approached his breathe And swallowed it from its origin. That was the life to my lungs. Oh, the cursed obligation To be hated by all... And I'll never forgive you For what you've done to him. He fits into my jigsaw puzzle, Never will he in yours.
