The Mirror in Tar, by Anthony Cardon Subscribe to rss feed for Anthony Cardon

Walk
Down
The hallway.

Watch
Thunder
Strike.

Feel
Trembles
Beneath you.

Inhale
Through
Your skin.

Look behind you.

Your eyes
Unleash their visions.
They gape at the heat
That burns behind the walls.
They drip like glue
And fall out of your head.

Walk
Down
The hallway.

Watch
Birds
Shred.

Feel
Red
viscosity.

Suck
Through
Your sores.

Look behind you.

Your mind
Cannot see you.
It bursts under arrows
That fly from the smoke.
It exists no longer
And the last thing you see:
The mirror,
It shatters like dust.

Walk
Down
The hallway.

Fall
Under
Rage.

Look
through
Your nostrils.

Stick
To
Your juice.

Look beneath yourself.
And sink.
