Those Honey Brown Eyes, by Cadence V. Leigh
|
When I first looked into those honey brown eyes
I was nothing less than mesmerized
Call it intoxication
I was bewitched no less
The warmth those eyes exuded
And I knew you were love
You told me you love the way
My laughter filled up each void
In your heart and filled it with merry
And you would catch me in your arms
And solemnly promise that love would last
And waltz me into eternity
Those were the days
When loneliness ceased to exist
And I live from day to day
In joy and peace knowing I’m a jewel
No less, in eyes apart from my own
And loved by a heart so tender
And when we parted that winter
The cold was biting frost
You turned your back to me
Dragged your suitcase off my porch
Away from the place I found love
Leaving with me only perfect memories
When I look back at then
I only cry tears of thankfulness
I had known a man so magnificent
Experienced a love so passionate
Knew eyes so enchanting
And an embrace always welcoming
