Stone cold heart, by Cadence V. Leigh
|
Make me laugh
That light hearted free-spirited tinkle
Rekindle that joy I found
In loving you
I stand here waiting
And I move to under that tree
I doze off yearning
Pining even to see you
I miss that goofy grin
As you sit by me strumming
My favorite tune
All the love in the world
You taught me what loving is about
What joy and giving meant
You gave me what was hidden
But with your own hands you destroyed
The aura of warmth
This kiss goodbye may be forever
This embrace tells me you are leaving
For good
But the happy memories you left with me
And that heartbreak farewell
I will never forget
For as long as I live
It’s sufficient to know
You once loved me too
The warmth of your embraces
Are filled with loneliness and cold
And the soft touch of your lips
Cannot rekindle the flame in my
Stone cold heart
