Dinosaurs, by bedazzled
|
Do you know
she asked me
about the dinosaurs?
her eyes gleaming,
her hair full of glitter.
What about them?
I asked her
and she reached up,
through her world of stars,
taking the hovering question mark.
Well
she told me
no one knows
what colour they were
letting the words
bounce
off her tongue
and stretch
'round my empty sky.
What colour
do you think they were?
I asked her
and she told me
through her helium giggles
purple!
She jumped,
elastic with delight,
glitter cascading
and rainbow trails
everywhere.
What colour
do you think they were?
she asked me,
narrowing her eyes
at my non-existent
constellations.
Hmmmmm
I think,
I think they had...
polka-dots!
and with that
she curled over
in curves of laughter
and then she gave me
a star.
