I will always remember you, by Annie B. SnowRaven
|
I remember the day we met
I remember the day you talked to me
I remember the day you left
I remember the day you left me
I remember you talking
I remember you smiling
I remember you being optimistic
I remember you cheering
I remember when we were introduced
I remember you in class
I remember your talks and jokes
That is now turned to ash
You were one of the best
Loved and unique
Everyone talked about you
It was you they always seek
But then it was time
What was said was done
You were still there smiling
Until one morning you were gone
It was over
You didn’t say goodbye
They were still sad
As time kept passing by
They cried to me
Asking where you at
They complained to me, pleaded to me
Dying to get you back
They asked me to tell you
That they’ll love you no matter what
They miss you more than ever
But believe me, they inveigh you for what you got
That’s what they want you to know
I’m only the messenger
But I can’t keep denying
I can’t be the stranger
You always cheered me on
With your words and smiles
With your stupid jokes and deep voice
That I could always hear for miles
Don’t take this seriously
After all I’m just a friend
But I know you and will remember you
Until someday we will meet again
I’m writing this now
Knowing that this is something you will never read
Although I mean every sentence and every word
But then again, this is the message you will never read

Your poems are so visual - I can almost see the scenes you're painting. |
