What It Means, by bedazzled
|
I suffocate,
I cannot sit here and fade away.
A stain on the page
of your dirty notebook, darling.
All I know is this is wrong,
this isn't where we both belong.
I'm going to take these cobwebs,
veil my eyes so you can't see.
I was there to stand in the rain
with you until you left me
in the storm.
I can take half of the blame
but how can you say you were
never wrong?
Now everything's so fucked up,
I sit here watching
as we both pretend.
Maybe you just forgot
what it means to say that
you're a friend.
How could you
just turn away when I was down?
Malleable,
your opinion is just wax, my darling.
All I know is this is right,
this darkness could become light.
I'm going to take these scars
and write the words so you can see.
I was there to share all your pain,
I listened to every word
of your wars.
I know that nobody's perfect
so how can you say you are
without flaws?
Now everything's so fucked up,
Somehow I believe
this will never mend.
Maybe you just forgot
what it means to say that
you're a friend.
I never meant to say
goodbye.
You promised me,
you promised me,
you promised...
