people of the banner of the sun, by Mary Magdalene Subscribe to rss feed for Mary Magdalene

the way i say i hate you
the way i dive in careless
the way teenaged reasoning
goes to nowhere
but trouble
the way those hallways long
my screams just echo away
and i cried for us
the failing youth
we glistened
i recall my bright clad statements
rainbows to elbows, candy beads
P.L.U.R.
who the fuck do you think
you are
little girl teen machine
i'd hang my propoganda
my oh so important opinions
on every stone wall
the way my words
my sharpie
drawing in hallways
that dripped and dried
all the while taking on blood
an entire highschool
divided
the way i would scratch a quote
from alexander pope
onto the nearest surface
the surface of the sun
the banner that we clung to
we all pause in moments
that are long gone
and lost

I like it a lot. I like that part about "we all pause in moments that are long gone and lost" Because it is sooo true
