The Abyss, by bedazzled
|
I can't bear
this chain of bricks
down my spine.
You stand on the other edge
of the abyss,
your voice snatched.
All I see
is you struggle to mouth
silence
over the darkness.
Sound is
excruciating.
You extend a hand,
I hesitate,
lean fowards
but only
fall.
Volume-boulders
crash down on me
as I struggle back up.
Hands bloodied,
body weary,
brick-train having gathered
another brick.
Every day
a tumble.
How long until
I can climb no longer?
We both ignore
the bridge.
