Perfectly Misunderstood, by ~Stay_Beautiful~20104

If you think I live
That happy, perfect life
Clear of hatred, envy,
The violence and strife
If you believe
That how I live
Is a happy little life
With so much love to give
So much caring
Love and laughter
That my world is perfect
That happy ever after
If you don't think I hurt
Don't think I cry
That I never feel
Like I'm dying inside
That I'm put together
And my smiles are real
That I have someone
To share the hurt I feel
If your image of me
Is the American scene
Happy teenage girl
Chasing after her dream
That I have that house
With the white picket fence
The perfect family
Few times that are tense
If you think I'm perfect
Take a look under the hood
You're wrong. I'm just so
Perfectly misunderstood

You have such talent in writing Chels!
I really like this poem, because it is so like us all, to keep some of ourselves back; we try and make like life is good and yet there will be that certain lil something that we stow away to contemplate on all by our sweet lil selves :)...yeah I'm guilty of not being as candid with myself as I should be...I think!?!
lol anyway you know me better than most do because we read each other's poetry and our Myspace. God bless you Chelsea! love Glo |
