Lie To Me, by bedazzled
|
How long until
these spiderweb veins
are emptied?
Your name is etched
on every blood cell;
there is no escape,
just scarlet addiction.
Razor-edged butterflies
that flit 'round my throat,
I know,
it's only a matter of time.
For how long
could you hold the weight
of such crimson obsession?
How long
could you hold your breath
before exhaling me?
And I know that yours
is a silken collage
of rose;
gentle, lovely.
In contrast
I am consumed
by a red-granite heart.
You are my lifesource
and I take more
than I give,
don't I?
The whisper screams
in my bones.
The next tears
will be blood,
sweetheart.
