The Fairy's Lover, by Julia Anne
|
Peter was the fairy’s lover.
His goal was, with affection, his love to cover.
Not simply a lover, not simply a groom,
This relationship was abloom.
Sometimes he slept with her during the day,
And at night he let her go and play.
One day at dawn when he awoke
Nowhere was she to be found, and so he spoke
To the other pilgrims, he asked them for help.
When they refused he let out a yelp.
So, alone, he went to search for his beloved
And found that she was being coveted
By another man as she slept in a field.
The two men began to shout.
Soon the shouting turned into a bout.
Amethyst was awake, scared, and screaming.
Blinded by hate neither man heard or saw even a fleeting
Glance of this fair maiden as she ran from the bloody
battle.
And she hopped into the saddle
And was never seen again. |
