Had the most amazing eyes
Honest, he could never lie
His smile, so sincere
Could help anyone to cheer
Loves to make others laugh
If he had one, he'd give you half
He is caring, and he is kind
His manners blew my mind
Imaginative, and so sweet
First to help you to your feet
Energetic and joyful
And always so respectful
Optimistic, so very bright
Bring the dullest room to light
He has an angel's heart
It broke mine to have to part
I wish him well in all he does
And thank him for all his hugs
He warmed my heart, inspired me
I hope he becomes all he wants to be

*** So here's the story:
I went to a local elementary school with my school's
National Honors Society. We all dressed up as "snow
friends", corresponding to the book that we brought each of
them. The story was first read to them, then we put on a
skit along with a reading. Then we delivered candy and the
same book to each child, instructed to spend the next 15-20
minutes or so talking to them. Though some of my friends
hesitated, I walked up to a young man named Brandon. His
smile was instantaneous. With no trouble, the two of us
talked and talked, colored, and played the no-blinking game!
He was so lively and extremely courteous, greeting me with a
handshake, note: these were 2nd graders! I quickly took
notice of his optimism and energy, as well as his genuine
care for others. Naturally, I fell in love with him! So, of
course, I was extremely sad when the time had come to leave,
giving and receiving hugs and thank you's. I definately left
there warm-hearted and smiling!
It wasn't until the following day that, in conversation with
our NHS sponsor, I found out that Brandon's teacher was
deeply touched, and literally had teared up, over the way I
interacted with him. Brandon is mildly autistic. I was
kind-of surprised when I had heard this. I never would have
expected that, had she not told me! The entire experience
really opened my eyes and still, I think of Brandon as an
inspiration and motivation. I wish him the best that life
has to offer and I shall never forget that day or adorable
face!!
(Sorry I wrote so much, but thanks for reading!! I
appreciate it!)

Chelsea this is a beautiful poem and what makes it even more beautiful is the fact that it incorporates two living angels into One poetic story! Brandon left your presence with a gift and you also left Brandon a gift of your loving presence! You are definately amazing as well as a genuinely honorable person! I just love you so much much Chelsea Beanz!!! (((Hugs))) :)
