Free, by bedazzled
|
The chains break.
I crawl forwards,
stagger to my feet,
walk.
One step at a time
I stumble away
from you.
From the binds
you knotted around
my heart,
from the arms
you used to push me
away.
I feel so vulnerable,
a bedazzled doe
in a rolling field
during open season.
Waiting for the first shot.
But there's nothing.
I keep wandering forwards,
searching for shelter,
picking my feet
over the rough terrain.
You don't hold me
anymore.
The gravity is broken,
I'm not your moon,
I don't revolve around you
now.
Something glimmers
from amongst the grasses,
I leave the broken pieces
behind.
