The Lie, by LostSoul
|
Staring at the mirror
And who do I see
Another man just trying to be
What people wanna see
But that's not me
A lie
A facade
I just nod
There's a man in the mirror
You just don't see
You try to get close
But like most
The shadow fades
No matter what you use for a visual aid
The image is gone
Like the beginning of each dawn
People don't realize
That what they visualize
Can be neutralized
With a simple smile
The person you think is stuck up
When you get a closeup
Is worthwhile
Now you wish you wouldn't have filed that file
It was all a lie
But you're quick to judge
Now you've misjudged
How easy it is to believe in a lie
When all you have to do is ask why
Give me the reasons why
Why did you cry
Why did you sigh
Why didn't you try
Why are you so shy
Why didn't you apply
Why didn't you say good-bye
The question is why did you believe the lie
Now ask me, why |
