oak, by AdiKOV
|
dark clouds rise above the land
casting a shadow over the fields
forcing life to seek shelter
a storm approaches from the north
a forest stands strong against it
but on the edge of the forest
one young oak stands aside
as a part of the forest
but yet alone and aside
the rain starts pummeling from the sky
with the roar of thunder
lighntnings slice the sky
nature shows its angry side
the forest resists it
every tree protects the ones around it
creating an unbreakable seal
a shield impenetrable to the storm
but the one lonely oak
trying to fit in with them
was left aside to the mercy of nature
nature unleashes its fury
raging winds and rain
break the oak's will
and bending it to it's own
the oak had the spirit to survive
the forest didn't forget on it
but nature had an ace in it's sleave
a lightning ripped the air in two
and hit the oak with intent to kill
dead silence...
the morning came, and the sun rose
the young oak lies on the ground
black and burnt
the forest weaps for the young oak
it's wet from the tears
that were poring all night
the oak never died...
it kept on living in the spirit of the forest
from it's carcus a new oak rised
promising to carry the proud name
of his predecessor for the time to come! |
