"Sent From Above" / by Marsha L. VonderBrink, by marsha
|
Sea birds diving over the cold ocean
their cries haunting and lonely
sand swept into mighty swirls
then even the star fish seek safety
sand crabs and turtles tunnel deep
insects flutter wildly in the heat
the roar of the waves hitting the beach
sending up plumes of angry sea
scent of tangy salt on the breeze
mewling of infants of another breed
conch shells whistle to the gulls
soothe their cries, sent from above!
