Grandpas Farm

grandmas baking banana nut bread
it's the first thing i smell right out of bed
grandpas already outside
i can't wake up that early, i've tried
hes already ran the big green plow
hes already milked bessie the cow
hes already fed a little white chicken
and hes says the corns fresh for the pickin'
grandmas preparing tonights feast
grandpas feeding our dog the beast
he always smells of pepperment and old spice
smoking a pipe and eating fried rice
we always watch the sunset at seven
but he keeps on working till eleven
the horses are all running free
i watch them from the biggest willow tree
theres not a radio or tv in sight
and only the moon for a nightlight
once the suns gone down the only sound
are all the bugs flying around
i like sleeping on the hardend floor
just next to the fireplace door
it's nothing like the big city
but theres nowhere else i'd rather be
