This poem is unwritten
The words are out of sight
I searched around anywhere I could find
But couldn’t find the words to write

I tried to put two together
I tried to make them fight
I tried to pull one word apart
But couldn’t find the words to write

I wanted them to rhyme
I wanted them to be bright
I wanted them to be polysyllabic
But couldn’t find the words to write

I tried to make similes
I tried to make them ignite
I tried to make alliteration
But couldn’t find the words to write

I wanted them to stand out
I wanted them to bite
I wanted them to scream to me
But couldn’t find the words to write

I tried to use superlatives
I tried to make them incite
I tried to use assonance
But couldn’t find the words to write

I wanted to use hyperbole
I wanted to make this tonight
I took a look at what I had written
And realised this was what I wanted to write.
