The sun shines through my window
Like a bittersweet memory
It's warmth hits me like a fatal blow
It brings back you and me
But I am starting out anew
This sunshine shall mean more
Than what we had, all we knew
It shall warm my inner core
My friends, they tell me, "Burn them!"
All those poems you wrote just for me
But like this sun, I treasure them
For they don't chain me, I am free
The love I felt for you
It seemed like my reason to live
You know, deep down, mine was true
But now, your act, I forgive
Off I go, into the great unkown
To the written word, escapes I
With experience and tests, I've grown
To see the truth and the lie
I hope, dark knight, you see your worth
credit to yourself, not much you didgive
But when you wrote the poem Birth
I saw, you had more than life to live
Let no one tell you, not even yourself
That you all you're good for is bumming
Don't leave your potential up on the shelf
Please start anew, so you can have my new beginning
