President, by Invisible Poet
|
You stand on that podium
your pinnacle of power
you recite a speech verbatim
and your words the masses devour
why do we follow
the words of one man
especially one so hollow
one who sent his soul to iran
The blood of innocence
stains his hands
no one listens to the adolescent
who stands screaming in the stands
It is simple to sign a paper
and as our forces go off to die
and the spirits slowly taper
he is busy forming an alibi
I pay no mind
to the words of these men
but when there caught in a bind
who do they blame then
the people like me and you
so corrupt in there ways
they can not see what damage they do
For they know numbered are there days |
