The Writer’s Best Friend, by MAC
|
A personification poem
My best friend
Slipping away
Her life is getting shorter
As time marches on
She has met with me daily
Without a question she’s there
But I can only sit and watch
As she starts to fade
A tear rolled from my eyes
When I had to say goodbye
I no longer have her with me
She is forever gone
She was my best friend
What will I do now
Without her
Life will be hard
But a new friend soon comes
So sharp, so wise
Her life is getting shorter too
As time marches on
