Handcuffs, by bedazzled
|
You put these handcuffs on me
and I wore them like precious jewellery.
I shone them 'til they caught the light
and the eye, and everyone would know
I belonged to someone.
But I have never belonged in circles
and you never really wanted to possess me.
Now I am your prisoner,
crying tears that won't corrode the chains.
Enslaved,
encircled
and worthless.
You frown at me -
where'd you put the keys?
But there are none.
You put these handcuffs on me
and you will
never
take them off. |
