Learning To Love Again, by bedazzled
|
My heart flutters in my chest
like a trapped bird in my ribcage,
which is strange because
I was so sure
its wings were broken.
Gently, ever so softly,
we begin to fall.
A spiralling descent
into our own world
where there is only
you and me.
I was only scars,
fractures and pieces
until you decided
to heal me.
I won't regret this,
my lover.
Each last second with you,
like sun on my skin,
awakening what was dormant.
And when you leave
I'll be repaired
and keep the memories as
my tools.
For now
just kiss me,
hold my smile
and we'll learn how
to love again.
