Just Friends?

A true friend you are
as steady as the sun
from you there is no hurting scar
so far it has only been fun
and laughter between us
and with a chance of something more
you have my undying trust
for what else would i use it for
pain like all things
leaves the body with time
even if at the time it stings
it encourages one to climb
up on to better a place
and in this quest i am true
but i know inside, when i see your face
the one place i want to be is next to you
I sit quietly, biding my time
i am not the kind of guy to plead
i simply write to you another rhyme
hoping one day to take the lead.
