I will even protect The Moon, by Lillian
|
I don't live to say "I told you so."
But a year ago I told you everything I know.
You ignored me,
A year has passed.
I wonder if you realize I was only showing you the facts.
There is more than just one connection between us.
On the surface we only share the same love.
But I am now what you will soon become.
And I think you'll stay strong through heart break,
Putting your life and sanity at stake.
All for what you still dream of as fate.
You're young and driven.
You acknowledge what you have been given.
You are selfless, he is selfish.
You are finished person, he's a half-assed version.
Do you think you deserve to be pushed aside and used?
Are you truly happiest when lost and confused?
I've written page after page about that soul.
He pretends to be so light when really he's dark and cold.
I gave up my dream for what I believed in him was real.
I was blinded by hope.
I know how that feels.
Love can change people, it can change lives.
But he'll never change his self-destructive lies.
All I can say is don't repeat my mistake.
I'm truly so sorry you fell for those devious ways.
Be you without excess pride at anytime,
Call for me and I will rush to your side.
I will comfort your heart and repeat what I know.
And I swear I will never say, "I told you so." |
