I Will Always Remember, by Susan Sargis Subscribe to rss feed for Susan Sargis

I remember your eyes. The blueness of your eyes.
How they caught me up in their whirlwind of love.
When you touched me with your gentle kiss, I was like a
cloud, floating high above the ground. Nothing could change
the way you made me feel that night.

My heart skipped a beat, and then caught it’s breath.
My words eluded me, and you held me in your arms.
Surely you remember, as I, don’t you? Surely you think
about that moment, when our souls touched.

My heart beats now, but it beats for another. Oh how I wish
it still beat for you. Oh how I wish that moment would come
back to me. Take me away. Wash away the sadness of saying
goodbye.

I know you are there, living your life, loving with all your
heart. Just as I am here, living my life, trying to love
with all mine.

But sometimes, in the stillness of the night, I remember.
And my heart breaks. Just a little.

It could have been different. It could have been us.
But we will never know the “could have beens”.

How beautiful are the memories. The sweet, sweet memories.
And for a moment, it all seems right. For a moment, I have
you. But then it dies. It lies upon the floor of my heart,
and I’ve not the heart to pick it up again.

The memories, the sadness, the love, wash over me, and flow
through me. Oh that you would know my love.

I still see your eyes. The blueness of your eyes.
And I remember. I will always remember.
