The Edge, by suzieQ
|
A friend, she calls me late
She is anything but calm
Her heart has met an awful fate
And someone has it in his palm
She has liked this boy a while
But recently she has discovered
That her feelings have stacked a pile
And love was shockingly uncovered
She asks me to shed some needed light
"Do I tell him or do I not?"
So I told her of my plight
The trap in which I was caught
I told her that I lost and won
That one love game I played
I told her that in all my fun
My love, it was betrayed
But I told her I was glad
I am happy for the memories
In life's stages, 'twas the best I had
For in that love, I had liberties
There is an Edge, I told her
You can't always stop and stare
Sometimes our feelings we must spurr
And leap without a care
The edge, she says, is safer
And this of course is true
Leap, is what I told her
Leap into that open blue
If you look instead of leap
You will never experience or learn
You will only be granted a peak
Of life, and left to yearn
So grab a hold of life, of love
And keep your heart wide open
Dont look forward, down or above
And leap, my friend, here's hopin'! |

Once again, it is kinda sad to read something like this now, at the same time i am so thrilled about the influences you had for this marvelous piece, and once again i have leaped over this cliff, this time it will be myself that takes the leap of faith, and not the one secured to the edge |
