Finding Neverland, by suzieQ
|
Today I found myself uneasy
And feeling older than I do
A feeling thats been creeping
And its one I'd like to lose
I saw a dear little friend
One I see as quite a sister
A boy has now entered her life
And this stung just like a blister
My little friend, baby of JGME
Has now, at last, grown up
Now why, do tell, does this sting
I am left to stare into my cup
When we were young we were read
All children grow up, but one
And as I look at my room of old
I wish back my childhood fun
Everyone must grow up
play is soon forgot
This, at least, is certain
Ignoring whether we want to or not
So for now I will curl up, safe
In my childhood quilt, in my nook
I shall stay as I was
And I fly from life into this book
Let my friend grow up and live
Let her love and and let her learn
But childhood is a gift from above
And bookmarked I stay, unmoved, unturned |
