We who choose the path of ease Escape responsibility and deny ourselves growth We assume in arrogance these factors of complete control Are we comforted by devising our own destruction Awarding selfish ignorance And never questioning the impact of our conclusion Living as lords of our own complex Intolerant of any diversion intending change Will we fight our vicious wills And dream of a better life Forged in discipline held by principle and resting in peace Or will we fall victim to our own cycle of compromise Mourning the measure of our restraint Trapped in our own inability Finally leaving us to age and die
