I Will Fly

By TimidTragedy

It must have been a year ago, when the doctor said there’s something you should know I have a moment left, a little time here. To say the things I’ve needed to for so long now. Momma, how can I tell you, without the tears that fall You taught me how to live, but love most of all. Soon I’ll have to leave you here, soon I’ll have to go But before I do, momma there’s something you should know. My dear, how do I tell you what you’ve meant to me So many times I’ve tried to just let you see We were young and deep in love not so long ago And before I go, Darling, there’s something you should know. It was like drinking lemonade in the summertime, late nights and catching fireflies It was the sweet mornings of mid July, the autumn breeze and the change of leaves That’s what it meant to me. There’s no need to worry and no need to cry When the angels come to set me free, I will fly My little babes, oh how do I begin, what can I say You all should know my love will forever with you stay My life you are, my dreams and hopes, please know Before I leave you babies, there’s something you should know. It was like drinking lemonade in the summertime, late nights and catching fireflies It was the sweet mornings of mid July, the autumn breeze and the change of leaves That’s what it meant to me. There’s no need to worry and no need to cry When the angels come to set me free, I will fly I’ll fly to you while your sleeping and leave a single kiss for you Each morning when you wake you’ll find I really left you two. I’ll fly to you in your dreams and take you for a dance On moonlight beams and twilight seams On golden stars that gleam. When I think about you, When I think about this time we’ve shared And what it’s meant It was like drinking lemonade in the summertime, late nights and catching fireflies It was the sweet mornings of mid July, the autumn breeze and the change of leaves That’s what it meant to me. There’s no need to worry and no need to cry When the angels come to set me free, I will fly I will fly
