Square One, by Invisible Poet
|
Im back to square one
these dice must be loaded
no wrong have i done
i know i was not goaded
you meant what you said
i can see it in your eyes
and when these thoughts run through my head
i simply shake them away, they are no lies
this is not a simple game
the rules are written in code
no two days are ever the same
though we walk the path with a heavy load
we both know the game well
veterans of the many tricks and the prize
to be the victor my happiness i would sell
without knowing it is a trap in disguise
as the fortress falls crumb by crumb
know only the game is never done
i simply have a new place to begin from
here i find myself back on square one |
