Veteran of Flight, by Invisible Poet
|
beginning my journey alone
i can only think of looking upon you
while i have been gone these walls they have grown
and now there is nothing you can do
they shelter me from the harshness
and yet let me experience it in full
standing alone i am alwats less
safe and yet sinking, a ship without hull
i plunge down this dark road
seeking the light awaiting me
and with every step my head becomes bowed
remembering what i could be
i have been touched by many angels before
been taken up with them to the sky
and every one has let me fall back to the floor
and every one has never seen me cry
this is what they want to see
they want to see me crumple in tears
showing they really do not know me
they have no idea ive been flying for years |
