The Dream I Wish I Never Had, by Lovecrafter Subscribe to rss feed for Lovecrafter

I’ve never been homecoming queen
Or class favorite for that matter
But I have not a care in the world
I’m on the top of the hill

Cause while I’m lying prostrate
I cannot get any lower
So when I lift up my head
To salute the ominous sun

I get altitude sickness of the brain
And vertigo of the soul
I’ve never drank more than a drop
But I get the worst hangovers

I put my head on my knees
And I just sigh and laugh
Guys don’t ever let me do this again
But what’s the use

Some say the world will end in fire
But some insist that it will be ice
I hold the most with the Eskimos
Because I’m hot natured and can’t stand the heat

And at the end of the row
My casket gleams a fateful, dead light
But I jump in and close the door behind me
Singing at the top of my lungs

How do you fight for what you believe in?
