A Father's Heart

By Darren Oxton •
To have you there everyday, is but a dream to me,
Those days are gone and won't come back, as far as I can see,
I thought I'd failed and let you down, as history repeats,
But joy you bring into my heart, which bounds and skips and leaps,
When you ask from time to time why daddy lives alone,
I say that daddy doesn't mind, if sad I've you to phone,
No matter where we are today, tomorrow or next year,
I'll always be right here for you, so son don't fret or fear,
No bridge or sea is large enough, to keep us far apart,
No distance can reduce the strength of a father's heart.
