What I Saw When I Looked At You, by die for my poetry
|
foam as white as the sea - is what i saw
when i looked at you.
One eye up and one down –
is what I saw when I looked at you.
A poor old man who has lived a hard life-
is what I saw when I looked at you.
A chain on one side; change rattling in one pocket
And tobacco in the other –
is what I saw when I looked at you.
A cold head and a shattered smile –
is what I saw that day when you were lying
in that feathery bed…the day you gone.
All I see now is an image in my head
And all I feel is a broken Heart
When I think of all the things that I saw.
