I get silence When all i wanted was friendship Why would i want your absence? When i did what i did, it wasnt just to quit I just thought that i was a last resort for you You left to see what you could get You realized it was nothing and there was someone waiting for you,one that you already knew And i still havent quite healed from that wound yet It was so weird, what happened between you and me Once day everything was fine and the next sun i just wasnt what you wanted me to be You retrieved your heart, and i took mine Then only a few weeks later You decide im the one for you And that you couldnt find anyone greater And just like that, my heart bounced off rubber and landed on glue But something just wasnt right? Was it the way we were together? The was you didnt hold me tight? No, it was what you said, "We would be together forever" Those are just words, dont mean a thing So why say them? They are wasted breaths on just a short fling You werent my prince in shining armor and i was not your gem So i ended the bonds And i said we coudnt be And now i cant even get you to respond I just wish we could go back, to when we were filled with glee But my mom found out And it just wasnt fair to lie to her But you wouldnt even hear what the breakup was a about So now i just have to focus on what we are, instead of what we were
