[untitled], by Kristin

I kept you on the highest pedestal
Like a dove on a telephone wire.
Your fingers lightly brushing my lips
Always set my soul on fire.
You made me promises, kept my secrets
Your love for me was no illusion.
I find it odd how that is faded
Please forgive me, and this intrusion.
Another heart has merged with mine
A new beginning all around.
Please don't tell me the pain you feel
My conscience cannot bear the sound.
So in the end I ask you this
It might be more than you can take.
Our love has faded, this is true
But our friendship will never break. |
