Leaving Safety, by Kristin
|
How many times must I go down this road?
All doors are closed, no rugged path to take.
Breaking apart, my story yet untold
Losing all the friends I seem to foresake.
But the darkness that I settle into
Though familiar, the allure has changed.
Something has clicked deep down inside of me
Time to start anew; turn the next page.
Well-known faces flash in my memory
A bittersweet reflection as I leave
Will these people still be waiting for me?
These are the pieces I long to retrieve.
No more sitting in my hole all alone
This is a new me, I really have grown. |
